The Planning Officer will be responsible for the processing of Development Management matters within an area based or function based team including responsibility for the handling of pre-application advice, planning applications, conditions, appeals and, when required, enforcement including negotiations with developers and other interested parties, securing financial and other community benefits through legal agreements.
The Planning Officer will ensure, in conjunction with colleagues, that statutory and legal obligations are delivered and communicated in a customer-focussed manner, optimising available resources.
The Planning Officer will be accountable to the Team Leader Development Management & Enforcement or the Major Applications Team Leader for achieving agreed Service outcomes and personal appraisal targets which uphold the Council's Core Values and meet the challenges of best practice.
Assess whether proposals are in accordance with Council's policies and liaises with officers of other directorates on matters arising from planning.
Examine and evaluate all types of planning applications made under the Town and Country Planning Acts and related legislation.
Assist with carrying out project briefs and feasibility studies in relation to regeneration and/or economic strategy work and liaising with staff in Greenwich Planning as required.

As Planning Coordinator, you will be working a 36 hours a week, within a temporary contract for 1 year.
Your roles and responsibilities include
Labelling and shipping chemicals and hazardous products.
Your primary focus would include the facilitation of planning workshops, schedule analysis, and maintenance on behalf of the schedule owner.

Dealing with all matters in respect of Development Management especially in relation to all aspects of planning (and related) applications, including relevant matters at preapplication and post-application stages of the planning process, planning appeals and planning enforcement matters.

Participate in monitoring arrangements for commissioned work to ensure it is produced to a proper standard and to defined timescales.
To contribute at a senior level to the delivery of high-quality strategic allocations and new communities including the New Eastern Villages (NEV) and Kingsdown, with responsibility for the determination of complex planning applications for development.
