As a Personal Injury Claims Handler, you will be responsible for investigating, reserving, and negotiating settlement of complex and high-value personal injury claims.
Responsibilities: Assess indemnity, investigate liability and quantum on motor claims, ensuring thorough handling of each claim to limit indemnity spend Communicate professionally with policy holders to ensure fair treatment and deliver world-class customer service in accordance with industry and company guidelines Proactively manage a caseload, ensuring correspondence and tasks are completed within SLA's Negotiate settlement of third-party claims Identify process/control gaps in legal defense panel performance and implement relevant actions to improve customer claims experience Maintain a high degree of technical knowledge and stay updated on market and legal updates Support cost, service, and process efficiency projects across the department and participate in departmental projects Display resilience and composure to remain positive under pressure and in changing circumstances Demonstrate ownership of work and maintain excellent attention to detail Constantly seek and communicate improvements in delivering excellent customer service Undertake any individual or team task in line with company values Ensure a relevant level of technical understanding through continuous development and learning Requirements: Skills: Good spoken and written communication skills Accuracy and attention to detail Ability to take increased ownership and responsibility when necessary PC literate with excellent administrative skills Excellent organization and time management skills Ability to work individually and proactively, as well as part of a team Drive/Motivation: Strong customer service orientation and helpfulness Motivated by teamwork Empathy and understanding Confidence and professional attitude Team player Positive approach High energy levels Experience/Knowledge: Minimum 5 years' experience of handling Technical personal injury claims Excellent written and verbal communication skills and confident negotiator Time management and organization skills Ability to manage time effectively and demonstrate great attention to detail Strong commercial decision-making skills based on evidence assessment Proven track record in dealing with fast-track and multi-track bodily injury claims, including liability disputes Good knowledge of indemnity, liability, and quantum issues Th orough understanding of: Personal injury claims (MOJ/Scottish and fast track) Advanced liability Fraud awareness Principles of indemnity Requirements under the RTA and Article 75 Qualifications: Secondary education with qualifications in Maths and English, or demonstrable ability in numeracy skills & written English.
The portfolio of claims will range from £25k to £150k and will include both litigated and non-litigated claims.
