Felbrigg garden has 2 very different parts; the West Garden is laid out in the style of a typical Victorian pleasure ground, arranged around an 18th century Orangery, with open lawns drifting into dense and dark shrubbery. We've had a lot of freedom within the Walled Garden for redevelopment, we've kept the balance between the productive 18th century kitchen garden, with trained fruit, vegetable plots and herbs and the 19th century trend toward the decorative. The Victorians' love of plants and willingness to experiment is reflected in many recent projects, with exotic species to be found throughout the ornamental borders.
