Consumer Additions are partnering with an excellent Real Estate business in their search for a Head of Payroll position. As the leader of the Payroll Department, you will oversee a team of two professionals and your primary responsibility will be to ensure the accurate and timely processing of two monthly payrolls across their two business areas. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with the Finance Director, providing expert guidance on all payroll-related matters and regulations, such as national living wage regulations, pensions, salary sacrifice benefits, charitable giving, and car benefits. An integral part of your role will involve transitioning the payroll function of acquired companies onto the newly implimented payroll system. Responsibilities: Lead and supervise the payroll team, providing mentorship and ensuring accurate and timely payment processing in compliance with company and statutory regulations. Maintain excellent relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. Take ownership of complex and technical payroll issues and queries. Manage the processing of P60s, P45s, and P11ds, as well as the launch of salary sacrifice schemes. Oversee pension processing for Nest and Scottish Widow. Keep abreast of payroll procedures and ensure they are up to date. Guide and develop the payroll team to enhance their skills and performance. Required Skills and Experience: CIPP qualification preferred. Minimum 7 years of payroll experience, including at least 3 years leading an in-house payroll function for a similar or larger number of employees (1,500). Proficiency in payroll processes, compliance practices, and systems. Proven success in team leadership and development. High level of proficiency in Excel. Experience advising senior management on payroll regulations and matters. Familiarity with Zellis Resourcelink is advantageous. Ability to balance big-picture thinking with attention to detail. Demonstrated maturity and discretion in handling confidential information. Capacity to make decisions and drive solutions forward. Strong organizational and time management skills. Collaborative mindset with the ability to build strong relationships across teams. Ability to cultivate positive relationships with the HR department and senior management stakeholders.
