Main purpose of position
On behalf of the local authority, the post-holder working with the DPH and other consultant colleagues will lead on improving the health and wellbeing of the residents which is underpinned by the statutory duty placed on local government to take such steps as it considers appropriate to improve health of its residents.
The post-holder will take responsibility for a strategic objective of the local authority and the Health & Wellbeing Board and act as a change agent to enable delivery of relevant outcome indicators from the public health, NHS and social care outcome frameworks.

This is a senior role in the local health and wellbeing community across CCC working as part of a Public Health team and system committed to improving health and wellbeing in Cambridgeshire.

West Sussex County Council Public Health (WSCC PH) will be receiving approximately £1.075 million for 2024/25, ring-fenced for smoking cessation.
The government has announced new funding to support current smokers to quit smoking, with £70 million additional funding per year for local authority-led stop smoking services (SSS) and support.
Although the exact amount for each subsequent year is yet to be determined, this funding will continue until 2028/29.
