Company: Global Distributor of chemicals & ingredients used in everyday products We have an exciting opportunity for a Supply Chain Planner to join our Supply Chain team in Widnes. As Supply Chain Planner, you will be primarily responsible for raising Purchase Orders and managing stock levels in and out of the business to support demand and to ensure appropriate stock levels at all times. Liaising with the site Operations, you will ensure appropriate capacity is available for arranged deliveries, you will raise, expedite and deal with any issues that occur for all materials aligned to your portfolio, including managing bad inventory out of the business. You will strive for excellence in customer service whilst controlling and monitoring stock, enabling a seamless flow of goods in and out of the warehouse. Key Responsibilities: Managing a portfolio of products ensuring that orders are placed in a timely manner to ensure that they are delivered OTIF whilst working closely with the commercial team for any pricing, quantity or lead-time restrictions Creating weekly production plans, ensuring customer dates are met Understanding system parameters and adjusting accordingly when demand has changed Working closely with the UKI customer service team (your customer) to ensure they have enough information to offer a high service level to the end customer Using your own initiative to look for new ways to improve processes whilst keeping stock levels appropriate, achieving KPI such as percentage of stock availability We Are Looking For: Experience in a similar role would be advantageous as would previous experience with SAP or similar MRP system but full training will be given to a confident individual with an awareness of the needs of the business To succeed in this role, you will: Be flexible with changing circumstances Be adaptable and possess strong problem solving skills Have excellent attention to detail Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and prioritise tasks according to business needs Able to demonstrate strong communication skills and the ability to deal with people of all levels of the business Who we are: With revenues in excess of $9 billion, Univar Solutions is one of the largest chemical distribution businesses in the world. As Stock Management Operative you will undertake stock checking and financial adjustments to nationally agreed standards. You'll ensure actions are consistent with site Policies and Procedures and assist in optimising space capacity in the warehouse and external locations (as necessary). As part of your key responsibilities you'll: Carry out daily programmed Stock Checks on a perpetual basis of all items held in the Distribution Centre Investigate and adjust, when required, any stock variances Carry out Individual Stock Checks on items held in the Distribution Centre following notification from Operations, Customer Services or Inventory Management of stock integrity issues Rectify/quarantine, then record instances of insufficient shelf life, damaged goods, poor packaging or incorrectly located stock in accordance with National Audit Procedures Run reports on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis to monitor stock performance Assist the Site Inventory Manager with the control and monitoring of the emergency Department of Health contingency stocks Advise Warehouse Line Management of any poor operational practices found Complete annual stock checks adhering to national agreed procedures, where appropriate Quality Check within the Dispatch Area of the Warehouse, ensuring that operational procedures are followed, ensuring any discrepancies found are rectified Perform and rectify quality checks on all new line items to ensure acceptable standard of product quality and accuracy of system data Produce and maintain pick face description labels and shelf talkers Maintain BS EN ISO 9002/ISO 140001 standards in all physical operational activity Assist in auditing external customer's receipt and distribution processes and procedures Support in the maintenance of management reports Operate a range of Mechanical Handling Equipment Promote good working relationships with all departments About You: We'd love you to have the following skills and experience, but please apply if you think you'd be able to perform well in this role!
