Logistical Support Services LTD has an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Operations Planner / Co-ordinator. As a specialist transport and freight forwarder based in Bristol, we specialise in creating and delivering secure logistics solutions to the Government, Military and Defence sectors on a global scale. Duties/Responsibilities/Accountabilities include; To coordinate delivery of individual jobs for customers, taking guidance from the team Lead, collaborating with stakeholders and trade experts to create the best options for the execution of a job. To maintain and promote our ethos of strong working relationships with both external and internal stakeholders to provide a professional end to end service. Alongside the team, you will act as the first point of contact and filter for sales enquiries for existing customers and new enquiries, identifying opportunities to optimise resource and maximise revenue. Coordinate sales enquiries through to invoicing ensuring adherence to agreed customer and company KPIs. To use data systems and stakeholders to prepare and submit the information required by customs authorities as part of the management of the international movement of goods. Ensure individual jobs are scheduled and executed in line with company procedures and IT systems, including the preparation of all required paperwork and bookings. Positively maintaining real time and proactive communication with all drivers and internal stakeholders, including pre-tasking briefs, to ensure all demands are fulfilled in accordance with the schedule and customer/company KPI's. Ensuring completed tasks are closed down and made ready for invoicing at the end of every day. To continually monitor driver performance, continuously improving the transport process and ensuring that compliance is met to a highest standards at all times. To ensure overall alignment with the company's strategic objectives in day-to-day processes and activities. We would like the successful candidate to have the following skills and experience: To be confident and have strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbally. To be a team player. To remain flexible and adaptable, with the ability to remain calm under pressure and problem solve. Have the ability organise and prioritise workloads to meet set deadlines. Be able to work under pressure or to tight deadlines where required. Strong IT literacy and understanding of MS Office. For the use of bespoke internal/external software, Training will be given. Have a good understanding of WTD, legal compliance and driver's hours. Have motivation to grow within the business. Experience in a transport/freight forwarding related industry is preferential but not necessarily needed.
