As QC, you'll be the go-to expert for both internal teams and clients, ensuring the integrity, safety, and legality of all products stored and distributed from this site. Your role will be crucial in fostering a culture of food safety and setting industry standards. Key Responsibilities: Customer Engagement: Attend regular meetings with customers, providing updates on processes, site incidents, and success stories. Food-Based Contract Management: Ensure awareness and appropriate segregation of allergens in products. Environmental Checks: Oversee storage units and trailer checks throughout the day. Investigation Lead: Act as the primary contact during investigation procedures. Documentation: Maintain and update all site certification documents. Training & Development: Deliver formal and on-the-job food safety training. Audit Preparation: Prepare and execute site annual certification and contractual audits. Quality Management: Create, present, and minute Monthly Quality Management Meetings. Pest Control Liaison: Work with our contracted pest controller to ensure site safety. Hygiene Coordination: Collaborate with the hygiene team to create effective cleaning schedules. Incident Management: Handle major site BRCGS spillages/breakages and train staff on proper procedures. Site Walkarounds: Conduct weekly inspections to maintain high standards. Communication: Email internal auditors about upcoming audits and manage follow-up actions. Resource Management: Order new allergen signs and distribute food safety materials. What We're Looking For: Communication Skills: Confident and concise, both written and verbal. Knowledge: Familiar with BRCGS Guidelines and Soil Association/Organic certification guidelines. Tech Savvy: Proficient with Microsoft applications and other office systems. Organizational Skills: Excellent time management and ability to prioritize workload. Training Ability: Capable of delivering effective training sessions. Warehouse Operations: General knowledge of warehouse procedures. Qualifications and Experience: Education: GCSE English and Mathematics as a minimum. Organizational Skills: Strong ability to organize and manage time effectively. Industry Experience: Experience in a food-based industry, ideally within logistics. Certifications: HACCP Level 2 and Organic Awareness certification. An exciting new role is available with this established 'niche' freight forwarder, our client is looking for an experienced Export Operative to join our current export team, to assist with the smooth running of the department. Working 09:00-18:00 Monday to Friday, including a 1hr paid break per day. The role of Export Operative will involve, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities: Ensure all export shipments are collected by the correct vehicle, the documentation is in order and they are exported to the clients satisfaction. Ensure custom entries are completed correctly using the correct CPC code and the entry is scanned to the NES Folder. Complete quotations for new and existing clients. Send flight details to the client by Email or Fax and ensure the foreign agent is pre-alerted with full details. Ascertain the urgency of the shipment and decide the routing of the shipment accordingly. Liaise with foreign agents when required. POD the foreign agent on urgent shipments to ensure delivery has been achieved. Ensure the NES file is fully completed and check post flight shipment details; details to client. Ensure the file is up to-date and ready for charging out. Liaise with the accounts team regarding client credit agreements. The knowledge, skills and experience required from our Export Operative is: Essential Recent experience of working as an Export Operative/Clerk. Hold a full UK driving licence. Good knowledge of the English language both verbal and written. Ability to prioritise and organise own workload to tight deadline. Strong communication skills: The ability to communicate effectively at all levels. Be a team player in the department and with members of staff from all other departments. Sound knowledge of IT - Word and Excel. Desirable Experience of Boxtop and/or eCustoms Knowledge of the local area and London.
