About the Role: This is a newly created role and will involve the end-to-end oversight of the broker panel including adding, removing and monitoring brokers, and reviewing broker quality via declined and cancelled rates. For this role, our client is happy to consider candidates who understand mortgages and have experience in packaging/underwriting mortgage cases. Responsibilities: To action and maintain all information from lenders on Brokers, reporting correctly onto the SIRA system. To action and consider all broker appeals together with any broker panel queries from across the business. Develop and maintain cooperative relationships between all internal stakeholders and investigate all referrals professionally. Work fraud systems such as CIFAS, SIRA & Hunter to mitigate potential losses. To investigate all intelligence and action accordingly. Carrying out Broker reviews, liaising with sales to either arrange they visit the broker or before the removal of a Broker and preparing a management report for the Credit Committee. Reporting the removal decision in a professional manner to Broker Support, the Broker, FCA, and other Lenders. Prepare Management Reports, ensuring they are prepared in time for Exco or Credit Committee meetings. Analyse broker data to protect the business. Experience required: Proven experience in packaging/underwriting mortgage cases. Proven ability to exercise good commercial and professional judgment. Effective communication skills both written and verbal. Good attention to detail Adaptive to ongoing change PC literate with knowledge of Microsoft Office products Enthusiastic, flexible, and keen to learn and develop a career. Knowledge of Hunter, CIFAS & SIRA systems would be beneficial but not essential. We are delighted to be working alongside a successful short term property finance lender (Bridging and Development loans) in Chester. They are now looking to grow their team and are looking for a Loan Portfolio Case Manager who will report to the Director of Credit Risk. The successful candidate will be primarily involved in the management of their growing portfolio of development, refurbishment and bridging loans. Main responsibilities Management of a portfolio of existing customers and to assist dealing with new applications alongside. Responsible for the management of each loan until they are finally repaid in full. Deliver high levels of accuracy and attention to detail when producing all written and communicated data. Assist with the completion and management of the loan portfolio, including redemption of loans. This includes drafting and sending out interest payment reminders, completion letters, notification of changes in interest rates, redemption statements and term reminder letters to borrowers. Calculation and preparation of loan redemption statements. Monitoring the progress of the loan, including the build/refurbishment works, sales, planning and refinance. Manage the Development loan drawdowns, including arranging monitoring visits, liaising with the QS, updates on progress and costs and ensuring the timely release of funds. Working closely with the Director of Risk to manage loans in default and this may include liaising with solicitors and the appointment of LPA receivers etc Toproactively chase clients/brokers/solicitors etc for updates & outstanding documents. Updating brokers and borrowers via phone and email on the status of their loan application/redemption. Updating the loan cases on the system and ensuring all information is uploaded. Maintaining loan pipeline records/spreadsheets for MI. To assist with providing information for external audits and ensuring all information is uploaded to the live records. Answering the phone and being the first point of contact with commercial mortgage brokers and borrowers calling our office. Key Competencies Development monitoring and lending experience Someone who does not shy away from tough situations and are able to have difficult conversations with borrowers. Self motivated, proactive with the ability to act on own initiative. A professional manner. Assertive clear telephone manner, excellent communication & numeracy skills. Team player, help others. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel & Word) Salary: £25k-£35k pa (dependent on experience) Holidays: 25 days plus bank holidays Office Hours 8.30am to 5pm (1 hour lunch) Monday - Friday.
