An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Construction Counsel with to join the Legal Department of a well known business operating in the Theme Park world. This role is perfect for someone with a keen interest in working in-house with a background in construction law. Client Details Our client is a key player in the Leisure, Travel & Tourism industry, based in Poole and Surrey. Description To provide quality legal advice and support that is proportionate, timely, cost effective and practical and which advances the overriding aim of supporting the business objectives; To protect the business from unacceptable financial and reputational harm and to optimise successful project delivery through effective management of legal risk; To enable the business to make appropriate risk-based decisions; To advise upon and lead the legal considerations on UK construction related projects. To raise awareness of and champion the importance of good legal practice with key stakeholders and increase compliance with the businesses legal policies; To provide strategic and practical legal advice for construction contract negotiations, construction and procurement planning and developing the construction contract templates used by the business; and Work with the UK project team to deliver UK construction projects and assist with commercial and practical advice at the outset of projects to mitigate risk throughout their duration. Profile A construction solicitor with at least 2 years' PQE, excellent academics and experience in non-contentious construction law (but some experience of contentious construction law would be an advantage); Relevant experience and expertise in the key activities outlined above; Ability to manage and take ownership of multiple complex matters and ensure that they are negotiated in accordance with the businesses risk profile and contract policy; Previous experience in a leading law firm or large corporate environment; Commercial awareness with ability to provide innovative, cost effective and practical commercial solutions to legal challenges; Experience of advising on, and working with both standard form and bespoke contracts; Ability to deal confidently and build strong relationships with business colleagues and partners around the globe; A flexible attitude with ability to work calmly under pressure, prioritise tasks and manage deadlines; Highly motivated, can-do positive attitude, analytical and professional; Excellent organisational skills with ability to plan, organise and manage tasks and projects through to timely completion; Job Offer A competitive salary ranging from £65,000 to £75,000 per annum Bonus Generous holiday leave Private Medical Pension Contributions up to 6% matched An inclusive and supportive company culture Opportunities for professional development Unique perks within the Leisure, Travel & Tourism industry
