PARALEGAL / LEGAL ASSISTANT - COMMERCIAL PROPERTY DEPARTMENT CHESHAM CIRCA £25,000 Person specification - Skills, knowledge and experience required: Experience of working in a Commercial Property team (min. 1 year) Audio typing - 60 words per minute Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office software High standard of English grammar and spelling Excellent attention to detail General administration/office skill Strong telephone skills Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English Time management skills Good knowledge of the commercial property processes Good understanding of commercial property terminology A friendly and approachable nature with an enthusiastic approach to the job Ability to prioritise own workload Ability to work as part of a team Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to deal sensitively with clients Confident meeting with clients and speaking to clients and other third parties Experience of using office equipment, e.g. photocopiers, scanners, fax machines Filing experience Diary management Knowledge of forms/layouts used in legal documentation Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines Experience in handling the administrative side of commercial property transactions A 'can do' attitude Ability to work as part of a team Tasks: Answering the telephone/taking messages Dealing with clients and other people calling at the office Progressing cases as requested by the fee earner Opening and closing matters using LEAP software Dealing with compliance matters (AML searches, etc.) Making appointments Attending clients Liaising with third parties Producing completion statements and drawing up bills Dealing with post completion matters and dealing with Land Registry General Paralegal tasks in relation to individual file management: Word processing Sending and receiving e-mails FilingPhotocopying Linking incoming post to appropriate case files Ensuring outgoing post/DX is taken to reception for dispatch Sending and receiving faxes Liaising with court staff and other third parties as required Reception cover, as required Other tasks as required
