Reeson Education is currently seeking an experienced learning mentor to join an independent school catering to children who have been removed from mainstream education due to challenging behaviour, anxiety, and mental health issues. This is a term-time only role with working hours of 08:30-16:30. As a learning mentor, you will be responsible for providing individual support to students with EHCPs, tailoring your approach to meet their specific needs. You will work closely with students to help them overcome their behavioural issues and achieve their academic and personal goals. To be considered for this role, you must have experience working with young people with complex needs, as well as the ability to build strong relationships with students and colleagues alike. You should be patient, compassionate, and able to inspire students to achieve their best. Applicants must have an enhanced DBS on the update service or be able to apply for one through Reeson Education. You must also be able to commit to this role until at least July 2024. We're seeking a dedicated Learning Mentor to join our team, working within a supportive SEMH provision in Wandsworth. This role, starting June 2024, offers full-time hours from Monday to Friday, 0830 to 16:00. As a Learning Mentor, you'll be instrumental in supporting young people facing medical or mental health challenges, providing them with the care and guidance they need to thrive in an educational setting. You'll play a pivotal role in boosting their self-esteem, fostering a safe, nurturing environment, and empowering them to achieve success. Responsibilities: Tailor lessons and teaching materials to suit the individual needs and working levels of the students. Manage classroom behaviour effectively, ensuring a conducive learning environment. Motivate and encourage all pupils to actively engage with the learning process. Requirements: Demonstrated compassion and empathy towards young people facing challenges. Possess a calm and adaptable personality to handle various situations effectively. High emotional resilience to cope with the demands of the role. Previous experience in nursing, mental health work, or youth work is advantageous. Level 3 Driver qualification is required.
