Based in Warrington and reporting into the Head of Engineering, the Principal Mechanical Design Engineer will be leading a team of Design Engineers (up to 10) to deliver concept-engineered solutions against complex requirements through the design lifecycle (from Front End Engineering to Detailed Design production), ensuring that the designs meet the requirements of the project, is compliant against codes & standards and is delivered to time, specification & budget.
Specifically, the Principal Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for the design & delivery of complex mechanical handling, machinery & process systems for heavy-regulated applications in the Nuclear Sector (including Defence, New Build, Modular Reactor & Fusion / Fission Energy Projects).

Dynamic (hybrid) working: 2-3 days per week on-site due to workload classification
