Role: Laboratory Technician Salary: Up to £30K Hours: 7:30pm-3:30pm - M-F Location: St Austell Are you a self-motivated Laboratory Technician? Would you like to become one? Come join our team at Imerys/Berg; as a Laboratory Technician you will have the potential to develop towards scientist level within the paper and board S&T team at Par Moor Centre. Initially the role will be a hands-on lab-based role, but over time could develop to include reporting responsibilities and ultimately project leadership. The role: is broad in scope and diverse in terms of the day to day work element, these can include: Preparation and characterisation of raw materials such as pigment slurries, coating compositions, or pulps. Application studies replicating industrial processes such as pulp bleaching, paper filling, coating and printing. Testing and analysis such as rheological measurements, barrier testing, characterisation of paper and board surface properties. Compilation of test data in a user-friendly format (Google sheets or excel). It is expected that the successful candidate will quickly become proficient in a broad range of practical skills while also developing an understanding of the purpose and significance of each test. The ability to show their initiative and to work unsupervised. A desire to undertake further study to improve their knowledge.
