I am currently recruiting for an Waste Management Operative on behalf of my client, a leading public sector organisation based in Loughborough (LE11) You will operate the loading shovel and other plant and equipment at waste sites. Duties include but are not restricted to; operating loading shovel and plant, loading vehicles, maintaining the sites and assisting to deliver a safe and efficient service. Duties of the Waste Management Operative will include: Receive all deliveries, check electronic/paper based records to ensure compliance and communicate effectively with drivers/contractors to operate safely on site Use equipment and systems including the weighbridge system to ensure sites operate safely and efficiently. Operate the loading shovel and plant to manage and bulk waste. Operate telehandler (only when trained and approved as operator) and baler (once trained) to load/unload products on site Load outgoing vehicles either in bulk or bales as required to driver/offtaker specification and accurately document. Assist the Waste Management Supervisor to ensure all site users are inducted and use the site safely. To be successful in this role, you will have: Loading shovel/plant ticket/ qualification- essential Working in the waste management industry or similar workplace- essential Use of specialist plant, such as loading shovel, telehandler- essential Processing all types of waste/commodity for onward transport or sale- desirable Knowledge of driver and vehicle practices Basic IT skills including the ability to use basic functions in electronic systems/willing to work towards Full, valid driving licence- essential This post is full time 40 hours over a 5-day working week, covering Monday Sunday. On site requirement 8.5hrs/day between the hours of 9am- 7pm. The pay rate is £11.98 per hour PAYE. These roles will be primarily based at Loughborough but would, on occasions, be required to cover other locations within the region, as demand dictates. PAINTER AND DECORATOR Temporary position x2 positions available Location: Loughborough £14.05 - £16 per hour PAYE, £20 - £22 per hour Umbrella 37 Hours a week 34 days holiday including 8 bank holidays and 6 closure days To hold a driving licence and be prepared to drive LU vehicles as and when necessary, including the towing of specialist equipment. The Maintenance Painter will be required to work as part of a large team carrying out planned, preventative and reactive maintenance across the University Estate. Responsibility To carry out painting, decorating and allied trade's works in connection with maintenance and minor alterations, required to University controlled premises. This may include managing contractual support with clerk of works checks on works. To carry out legislative checks on asbestos condition as part of PPM schedules and record findings To carry out legislative checks on access equipment as part of PPM schedules and PUWER Be actively involved in the planning and set up of degree ceremony. To estimate the requirements for Labour and contractual support plus materials and to advise the Fabric Delivery Manager In consultation with Team Leaders be able allocate work to tradesmen where necessary, to check the work when completed in order to maintain a high standard To become familiar with and use new equipment and systems and to undertake special training where required. To ensure that work locations, machines and equipment used in the course of their duties are safe in accordance with the Health and Safety regulations at Work Act 1974, and to report to the Building Fabric Delivery manager any defective or unserviceable equipment. To carry out frequent checks on ARCHIBUS to ensure correct completion and submission to enable accurate records to be maintained. Gain quotes/estimates for works, place purchase orders for contracted works as required. To understand and implement Health and Safety policies and requirements for yourself and others, commensurate with your level of responsibility within the Department to enable you to discharge your other duties and responsibilities safely
