The Kitchen Manager will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of catering operations within our client's business. Primarily responsible for day-to-day canteen operations, they will also support business events/meetings with catering requirements. Roles & Responsibilities: Manage the day-to-day operations of the company onsite canteen (team of 2) Plan and organise weekly menus & food for catering events, such as corporate meetings or functions. Determine the appropriate amount of food & beverages needed daily canteen operations and events. Develop menus that provide a diverse and healthy offering for employees. Ensure the quality and presentation of food and beverages meet or exceed employee/client expectations. Conduct food preparation, cooking, and plating to maintain consistency and high standards. Provide professional and attentive customer service throughout the catering process ensuring client satisfaction and delivering high quality service. Manage a small canteen team to deliver daily food to employees and for business events. Address any performance issues and provide constructive feedback as needed. Manage catering P&L, ensuring profitability and monitor expenses, including food costs, labour, and equipment rentals. Negotiate contracts and pricing with vendors and suppliers. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, health codes, and licensing requirements. Maintain proper sanitation practices and cleanliness in all food preparation and serving areas. Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify and address any potential health and safety risks. Experience, Knowledge & Qualifications: Proven experience in catering industry and similar roles. Ability to lead and manage a small canteen team. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills to plan and coordinate daily operations & catering events, manage resources, and meet deadlines. Knowledge of cost control, and pricing strategies to ensure profitability and meet financial targets. Understanding of culinary trends, menu planning, operational procedures and the ability to create diverse and appealing menus. Experience in sourcing and negotiating with vendors and suppliers for ingredients, equipment, and rental items. Knowledge of food handling & safety regulations, health codes, and sanitation practices to maintain a safe and hygienic catering operation. Familiarity with dietary restrictions, allergies, and special dietary considerations to accommodate diverse guest needs. Certifications: Evidence of certifications for Food Safety, Health & Safety, Food Allergen Awareness, COSHH Awareness, Professional Cookery (or equivalent). Working hours Monday - Friday 6am- 2:30pm, totalling 40 hours per week. In return our client offers a salary from £30,000 depending on experience and skill set, as well as free onsite parking.
