Job Title: Junior Quantity Surveyor Company: Main Contractor Location: Manchester Sectors: Education, Healthcare, Commercial and Public/Government Industries: Fit Out, Refurbishment, New Build projects up to £10M Type: Full Time Permanent Role Salary: £25,000-£30,000 plus car allowance and package Job Description: Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Quantity Surveyor to join their team. The ideal candidate will assist in managing the costs of construction projects, ensuring they are completed within budget and to the highest quality standards. This role offers an excellent opportunity for professional growth and development in the field of quantity surveying with the chance to progress into a major decision maker for the business. Responsibilities: Assist in preparing tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities Conduct cost analysis and provide accurate estimates for construction projects Assist in evaluating subcontractor quotations and negotiating prices Confidently put packages and orders together Monitor project progress and costs throughout the construction phase Prepare and submit progress and cost reports to project stakeholders Assist in resolving any contractual or commercial issues that may arise during projects Collaborate with project managers, architects, site managers, and other stakeholders to ensure project success Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field Strong analytical and numerical skills Proficiency in MS Office Suite and quantity surveying software Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively in a team environment Detail-oriented with strong organisational skills Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations is preferred but not required Relevant internship or work experience is a plus - ideally candidate has 1 years experience in the construction industry post-degree. Must be based in the Manchester area to commute to the office in Northern Manchester.
