This is a great opportunity for an experienced Senior Business Development Executive to join a major international law firm as part of their Global Markets team with responsibility for the Central and Eastern Europe group and supporting other key regions. The Global Markets team is a small team with a unique remit sitting within the wider Marketing & Business Development team. The focus of Global Markets is to manage the firm's business development strategy and activities in all of the geographies in which they serve clients but do not have a permanent on the ground presence. The role holder will support the development and implementation of the firm's strategy in Central and Eastern Europe and other key regions. This will involve understanding the global commercial landscape, developing and maintaining relationships with in-country local counsel and intermediaries, identifying related client issues and opportunities, understanding emerging market trends, articulating the firm's USP in relevant markets and regions and leveraging internal relationships to support the winning of mandates. You will enjoy a varied role requiring collaboration with senior internal stakeholders, third party law firms and client contacts, and working closely with brand, marketing, communications, research and business development specialists across the firm globally. Acting as a key point of contact for enquiries and requirements in relation to the group, the successful applicant will be required to develop a sound understanding of the specific challenges of and the opportunities for the group, executing a focused marketing and business development strategy that strengthens relationships with existing third party law firms, clients and intermediaries and that targets new work and builds the global reputation of the firm. You will build relationships with prominent partners globally across the firm, driving opportunity spotting and lead generation, supporting new business development and providing country insight and experience on pitches and to global client teams. On the marketing side, the Senior Business Development Executive will be responsible for providing hands-on marketing assistance to events, selecting and tailoring global campaigns initiatives, creating bespoke marketing collateral and supporting relevant submissions. The ideal candidate will be degree educated, or equivalent, with previous experience working in a marketing or business development role within a professional services environment, ideally a law firm. Operating with resilience in a fast-paced environment, the Senior Business Development Executive will be a team player with excellent communication skills, great attention to detail and a strong ability to work independently on their own initiative. Existing knowledge of regional and country markets is not a prerequisite, but an affinity for or interest in global markets will be highly advantageous.
