Trainee Installation Engineer Position Overview My client based in the Bristol are currently looking for an Installation Engineer to join their team. This role would suit someone who has either done shop or window fitting or someone with an engineering or construction based background, however on the job training is provided so candidates with a willingness to learn would be considered also. Responsibilities include: Visiting both commercial and domestic sites (commercial shopfronts, building sites, retail outlets, designer outlets, offices, hospitals, schools and also domestic houses). Travelling to sites around the UK which requires some early mornings or late finish (flexible hours) Dealing with customers and high-end clients face to face, therefore good communication and customer service skills required (polite, manners etc) Working up ladders (working at height training can be given), a lot of manual handling and heavy lifting (Awning brackets are installed first, then Awnings are lifted up in to position and fixed). Working with power tools and fixings Programming remote control handsets to electrical motors inside Awnings and Blinds Conducting on-site surveys and assessing for new Blinds/Awnings/Canopies Working with dimensions and measurements ACCURATELY is essential (all of our items are bespoke, made to measure, to the millimetre) Carrying out installations of both manual and motorised Retractable Awnings Carrying out installations of Fixed Canopies Delivering and erecting large Parasols Window Film installations in offices (training will be given) Installation of high level interior commercial window Blinds Strapping heavy items on the roof of vans and lifting off Loading vans with goods for installation Occasional factory work to assist with manufacture of goods prior to installation Woodworking required, minor shopfront alterations and reinforcements Occasional painting of woodwork Understanding of logo branding, the process and method Refurbishment of Awnings and Canopies on site Health and safety training will be provided Use of all hand-held power tools essential Awning lifting equipment can be provided Reporting back to office staff frequently on status of installations Working to deadlines Completing necessary survey paperwork for office Trainee Installation Engineer Position Requirements Experience in a shop/ window fitter, engineering or construction-based role would be desirable Hands on and practical Able to undertake heavy lifting and working up ladders at heights Good communication skills Must be over 25 due to company van insurance policy Full UK driving license Based locally to BS16 due to early starts/ late finishes when required Trainee Installation Engineer Position Remuneration Training salary of £25,000- £26,000 overtime and unsociable hour pay 25 days holiday plus bank holidays On the job training Salary progression once trained Bennett & Game Recruitment are acting as a Recruitment Agency in relation to this vacancy. My client in the Armley area of Leeds are looking for x 2 Site Installation Engineers. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Transformer Engineer to work for a leading manufacturer and supplier of electrical power distribution equipment. The Role: Your duties will be a combination of site-work assembly of Distribution and Power Transformers including fitting, wiring and test at site and in-house production fitting and assembly work. Key areas include: In-house fitting and assembly of various types of distribution and power transformers. You will prepare work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications and parts lists: gathering parts, subassemblies, tools and materials. Assembly of components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and subassemblies. From time to time, travelling to third party sites both in the UK and abroad to build up the equipment and test. Ensuring that all equipment is assembled and tested to the highest standard. Reading and understanding mechanical and schematic drawings Using general workshop machinery and hand tools related to the role Identifying and working with others to resolve inadequate or unclear manufacturing/engineering information Sometimes working unsociable hours when required to meet company demands, including site work as required Sometimes working abroad on special projects if the need arises. Skills, Knowledge and Experience: Experience and competence of working on site fitting distribution and power transformers is essential Hands on experience of working within a mechanical/electrical engineering environment is essential The ability to understand mechanical and schematic drawings is essential Apprentice trained or a Mechanical/Electrical qualification is essential Experience of Health and Safety and conducing risk assessments is essential You will have good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise with customers and resolve issues in a proactive and positive manner Strong trouble shooting skills Excellent attention to detail You will be flexible and adaptable and be prepared to attend site at short notice which may be outside your normal working hours Experience of working collaboratively with other operations personnel with the ability to train and enhance your wok colleagues' skills.
