Conduct regular maintenance and safety checks for all equipment and kit. Take the lead in championing health and safety, providing first aid where necessary. We are seeking a dedicated IAG Advisor to join the team at HMP Thameside and play a crucial role in helping offenders reintegrate into society. As an IAG Advisor, you will have the opportunity to provide guidance and support to individuals within the prison environment. Key Responsibilities: Engage with offenders to provide Information, Advice, and Guidance (IAG) on various aspects of their rehabilitation and reintegration. Collaborate with individuals to develop personalized plans that address their needs, aspirations, and goals. Assist in identifying training, education, and employment opportunities that align with offenders' interests and abilities. Foster positive relationships with offenders, offering them a source of guidance and encouragement. Working Hours: Monday to Friday, with a more relaxed schedule on Fridays, finishing around noon. Flexibility exists within these hours, typically spanning 8:00 AM to 4:45 PM (M-T) and 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM (F), half-hour unpaid lunch (M-T). OR You can also choose to work from Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Salary Scale: £26,145 - £32,700 For trainees without an IAG 4 qualification, the starting point is at £26,145 (then increasing to £30,344 upon completion of IAG Level 4). While the upper range is £32,700, this represents a progressive level that can be attained over time and with relevant qualifications. Note that should you be successful, you will have the opportunity to complete a Level 4 CIAG qualification post-probation, leading to a pay increase upon completion. Who are we looking for? Candidates with a background in Criminology are encouraged to apply. Possession of an IAG Level 3 qualification is preferred but not mandatory. Candidates with prison experience are especially desirable. We are open to considering candidates with experience even if they lack an IAG qualification. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to complete a Level 4 CIAG qualification post-probation, leading to a pay increase upon completion.
