We require a Senior Business Analyst to cover an existing workload within Metropolitan Police, based in Lambeth HQ (Hybrid working based around meetings). This is an interim position for an initial 6 months with the potential to be extended, dependent on workload. Job Purpose: To provide specialist Technical Business Analysis expertise within the Forensics area to support the MPS in deploying and integrating new capabilities across Forensics Services in a way that is sensitive to and fully compatible with business operations. In particular, ensuring that there is full alignment with New Met for London principles and MPS values. Be responsible for the investigation, analysis and design of business processes, gathering both business and technical requirements with the objective of enabling the progression of capabilities into delivery as directed by the delivery manager. Support development of key project inputs and outputs / gap analysis. Manage standards and quality assure all Business Analysis artefacts. Attend regular update meetings with Business and Project Managers. Undertake assessments and studies to identify and clarify the business problem, present potential options, and solutions and identify the associated benefits. Build and maintain strong project stakeholder relationships. Understand and accept the core principles set out in the H&S Policy in relation to your role, duties and responsibilities and implement those principles and requirements in day-to-day activities. Expected to work within the Forensic Service Quality Management System and actively contribute to the continuous improvement of the system by active engagement with the users and the quality management team. Skills and experience needed to be successful in this role: Gathering and analysing business requirements, translating them into technical requirements, and working with technical teams to implement solutions. In-depth practical experience of business analysis working to manage and deliver the demand/requirements of large complex MPS and National IT projects and programmes. Development of ICT business cases leading to approval by management boards, following the Treasury Green book. Business Analysis in a public and/or private sector environment using different methodologies i.e. agile and waterfall. Practical experience in producing as-is and to-be Process Models and the ability to undertake Gap Analysis on which project requirements will be based. Experience of both Agile and Waterfall delivery methodology. Specifically experience in Sprints, Scrum or other tools e.g. JIRA will be desirable. Proven experience producing artefacts to support the analysis and design phase of projects using a recognised modelling tool such as JIRA and Confluence. Background of working in a structured development environment that includes working with 3rd-parties to deliver complex solutions. Experience of supporting the delivery of policing solutions.
