Role: Systems Engineer Sector: Finance Salary: £40,000 Location: Central London My client is seeking a Systems Engineer to bolster and manage our infrastructure, ensuring operational stability, integrity, and efficiency for both in-house information systems and cloud services. Responsibilities include planning, designing, implementing, and supporting complex application and infrastructure projects. You will troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues across Windows/UNIX systems, manage user and email accounts, administer network resources, and ensure system security. Additionally, tasks involve installing, configuring, and maintaining operating systems, virtualization platforms, servers, networking, clustering, storage solutions, and software applications. You will also oversee OS, application, and anti-virus updates, optimize storage performance, and implement storage architectures based on industry standards. Our client's systems are deployed across a range of regulated industries, casinos, oil and gas platforms and public infrastructure (train stations & airports) where the need for security is paramount. Key details: This is a role where you will be visiting client sites 3/4 days per week. The remaining days you will be working at home, writing reports and visit notes. You will be visiting clients across the south of England, inclusive of London. Ideally, we are looking for someone who has a background working with IT software, configuring software for bespoke applications, video and audio systems (IP) & Windows OS. Experience required: Configuring bespoke IT software. IP video and audio systems experience. Strong IP protocols & networking principles knowledge. Windows / IT Background. Troubleshooting Windows OS components (active directory, file sharing, clustering, GPO, performance monitoring etc).
