Recovery Worker We're on the lookout for a dedicated and empathetic professional to join our team as a Recovery Worker. The perfect fit for this role will have a genuine passion for assisting individuals battling substance misuse disorders, and a strong commitment to positively impacting their lives. If you possess a solid background in addiction counselling, crisis intervention, and client advocacy, we'd love to connect with you. Responsibilities: Deliver individual and group counselling sessions to clients grappling with substance misuse disorders. Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify the unique needs and objectives of each client. Collaborate with clients to develop tailored treatment plans, taking into account their specific circumstances. Lead psychoeducational workshops and support groups covering topics like relapse prevention, coping mechanisms, and life skills enhancement. Track and document client progress, making adjustments to treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal results. Work closely with interdisciplinary teams, including therapists, medical professionals, and social workers, to provide holistic care and assistance to clients. Offer crisis intervention and support to clients facing emotional or behavioural crises. Advocate for clients' rights and access to community resources such as housing, employment, and healthcare services. Uphold confidentiality and adhere to ethical and legal standards in all interactions with clients and colleagues. Engage in continuous training and professional development endeavours to enhance expertise in the realm of substance misuse treatment. Experience Required: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, Counselling, Psychology, or a related field. Certification or licensure as a Substance Misuse Counsellor is preferred. Prior experience in substance treatment or a related field is highly desirable. Knowledge of evidence-based practices in addiction treatment and recovery. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and crisis intervention skills. Ability to thrive both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Compassion, empathy, and a nonjudgmental approach towards individuals grappling with substance disorders. Familiarity with community resources and support services for individuals dealing with substance issues. Willingness to comply with agency policies and procedures, including confidentiality and ethical guidelines.
