Job Title: Head of HR We are seeking a proactive, empathic and strategic-minded individual to join our team as "Head of Human Resources". The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of HR management, ensuring the effective implementation of policies and procedures, and providing strategic direction to support the company's objectives and growth, as well as aligning with Group standards and local UK requirements. Must have worked with Unions Duties and Responsibilities Develop and implement HR strategies, policies, and procedures aligned with the company's goals and values. Lead, manage and further develop the HR team, providing guidance, support, and mentoring to ensure high performance and professional development Oversee the recruitment and selection process, including talent acquisition, on boarding, and retention strategies, including management of third party recruitment suppliers and partners. Oversee employee relations, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and grievance procedures. Collaborate with department heads to identify training and development needs and design programs to enhance employee skills and capabilities. Act as a strategic partner to senior management, providing advice and insights on HR matters to support decision-making and business objectives. Ensure compliance with employment legislation and regulations, both in the UK and internationally, and keep abreast of changes and updates. Align HR practices and initiatives and leverage best practices across the organization. Oversee compensation and benefits programs, benchmarking against industry standards and ensuring competitiveness and fairness. Manage HR metrics and reporting to track key performance indicators and provide insights for continuous improvement. Represent the company in HR-related matters, both internally and externally, including industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities. To maintain and build upon the Management / Union relationships established. To lead and represent the company at union meetings and negotiations, including annual pay negotiations. Work with the Health and Safety manager on identified issues, take responsibility for the HR elements of the Company Emergency Plan and attend monthly health and safety meetings. Education and Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or any related field; Master's degree preferred. CIPD Qualification desirable. Proven experience in a senior HR leadership role, ideally within a similar-sized company with international operations. Strong knowledge of UK employment law and regulations Experience and Knowledge Excellent leadership and managerial skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team. Strategic thinker with the ability to translate business objectives into HR initiatives and actions. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels. Proactive and results-oriented, with a track record of driving positive change and delivering impactful HR solutions. This role will need a commercially focused and technically experienced HR professional Self-motivated, a good communicator Excellent communication/negotiation skills Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. Willingness to travel occasionally for duty trips and meetings with international counterparts.
