The legal team is looking to appoint an in-house commercial contracts solicitor to focus on commercial contracts advice, drafting and negotiating in a business facing role. Your new role You will gain excellent experience working in a number two role, and you will be a key contact for legal matters, finding commercial solutions and having a results-oriented approach. This is a newly created position to support the business on a range of legal matters including drafting, negotiating and reviewing contracts; making commercial decisions; general contract management; GDPR & data protection, risk management, dealing with broader legal counsel matters such as general legal queries and managing the relationship with external lawyers where necessary. You will support the head of legal with deputising where necessary, support with business objectives and projects as appropriate and manage the relationships with key stakeholders. You will have the flexibility to work from home 2 days a week with 3 days in the South Manchester office. What you'll need to succeed You will have a solid foundation in commercial contracts with experience in drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements. You will have completed your training with a well-regarded law firm or in-house legal department and have excellent relationship-building skills in order to work effectively across the business and influence decision-making at all levels. Any experience with technology agreements would be an advantage. This would suit a commercial lawyer with 3-8 years' PQE who is results driven and enjoys working as part of a collaborative and business facing team.
