Shorterm Group are looking for Vehicle Technician to upskill them into HGV Technicians. We have designed a paid upskilling programme that takes experienced light vehicle mechanics, car, PCV and HGV mechanics and upskills them to be highly competent HGV/PSV/Bus technicians. It is a joint programme between us and a few of the largest British based Bus/Coach/HGV companies. This is a 1-year paid "work and learn" programme. The training programme consists of 24 separate planned on the job (OTJ) training practical assessments across the year. Location: Various around Northampton, Lincolnshire, Peterborough, Wellingborough. Shift: Monday to Friday and every other Saturday. o Mon - Fri, early late alternating shifts (6am-2:30pm and 1pm/2pm-9:30pm/10:30pm) o Sat - 8am-12pm Salary: Circa £34k dependant on shift/hours worked. Night shifts are also available at certain depots. Hourly rate: starting at £16.53p/h PAYE. Duration: 12 months in the clients' depot - after this there is a very good prospect of full-time employment direct with the client. IMI accreditation upon completion of the 1-year programme and salary increase to 42k Qualifications/Skills needed: Will have completed an apprenticeship in light vehicle mechanics and repair, BTEC, City & Guilds qualification or a level 2equivalent relevant qualification. In exceptional cases we will consider candidates who do not possess a level 2 qualification or equivalent but who have strong relevant technical expertise. Hold a full UK drivers' licence. Own a laptop/PC and have domestic internet connectivity. Have the right to live and work in the UK. Live within a reasonable commute of a designated garage. We are currently recruiting Production Operatives with Counterbalance Forklift Licence for a 3 week shift pattern based in Dunstable. Following training on a day shift, the working pattern is 2 weeks of AM shift and 1 week of PM shift. As a knowledgeable Production Operative with Counterbalance Forklift Licence, you will be able to demonstrate previous working experience of working on an assembly line, putting items onto the line, labelling items, packing goods and all other duties that arise. As a Production Operative with Counterbalance Forklift Licence, you will also have strong IT skills as well as Health and Safety knowledge and having a counterbalance licence would be an advantage.
