The post holder will become part of the hospital's specialist multi-disciplinary team, working closely with the dietitian and the nursing team to contribute to the delivery of the dietetic service. As a Dietician Assistant you will be: Supporting the dietitian with collecting information for dietetic assessment. This will include looking at IT systems, food record charts, speaking to other healthcare professionals, schools and patients/parents/guardians and obtaining weight and height data. Reviewing patients to ensure the agreed nutritional plan is appropriate and being followed and reporting back to the dietitian if changes are identified or when you have concerns. Discussing the patient's treatment plan and their condition/illness with the care team. Completing and maintaining patient records and data collection in line with trust policy and information governance requirements. Supporting the dietitian and nursing team with by helping to produce displays and resources. Participating in the practice of meal support for patients while providing education to ward staff regarding mealtime table set up and patient meal support. Act as the point of dietetic contact for patients on a ward level through patient key-sessions and participation in community meetings. This will require to provide trouble-shooting services for patients, carers, and staff, referring problems to the dietitian when necessary. Helping in the facilitation of groups and patient sessions involving eating outside of the clinic. Liaising with the hospital's catering department regarding menus, portioning sizes and special diets. Representing the dietetic team in clinical or managerial meetings across the hospital during periods of colleague annual leaves or sickness absences. Supporting the completion of audits, formulating and completing actions plans from the audits so as to improve practice. To be successful in this role: General standard of education to GCSE or equivalent. Grade c/ level 4 or above in Maths/ English/Science. Evidence of previous and ongoing experience of working in a healthcare setting in a clinical capacity. Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook and Internet browsing. What we're looking for in a Registered Manager: You will need to be experienced, driven and passionate individual with experience working with children who can present as challenging. You will need to have achieved your QCF Level 5 in Health & Social Care or QCF Level 4 in Management for Childrens Residential services. You will have previous experience working within a management role, at demonstrable experience of management within a residential childcare service. You are required to be computer literate, have strong relationship building skills and customer service skills. You will have experience of the childcare sector, the regulatory framework, service delivery with excellent working knowledge of the essential standards and statutory inspections in social care. You will need experience of developing strong relationships with the people we support, family members, health professionals, local authorities, including GPs and social workers.
