HEALTH, SAFETY AND COMPLIANCE Advisor Derbyshire £35,000 - £40,000 depending on experience and qualifications Our client is a well-established, family-owned business who develop and manufacture a range of products for use in industrial, cleaning, auto-care and wood treatment applications. They are looking for a proactive and experienced Health and Safety, Environment and Compliance Co-Ordinator who can bring a wealth of knowledge to this diverse role. Role Management and upkeep of an existing internal compliance management system. Risk Management together with implementing appropriate control measures. Overseeing Site Inspections & Audits. Management of Incident reporting and investigations, including RIDDOR, implementing strategies to prevent re-occurrence. Implementation and upkeep of accreditations -ISO14001, ISO9001, ISO45001. Staff, Visitor and Contractor training and induction. Management of company compliance documentation including duty of care records and permits for waste. Creating and delivering of staff in-house training documents. Supplier/Sub-Contractor Approval and Control on site. Company representative for consultants and enforcement bodies. Organising and planning of regular health, safety and environmental meetings, promoting a culture of health and safety throughout the site and ensuring compliance across the organisation. Responsible for COSHH. Management of emergency and first aid procedures on site, ensuring that fire alarms and site evacuation exercises are conducted regularly, that adequate staff are trained in first aid and chemical spills, and safety and environmental matters. Candidate Strong health and safety/compliance experience and has preferably worked within the chemical manufacturing industry or related sector. Understanding of ATEX/DSEAR regulations would be an advantage. Strong IT skills - Word, Excel, Power Point. Excellent organisational skills and working with accuracy, and attention to detail. Good working knowledge of Quality Assurance, Health & Safety and Environmental Controls and Waste Management. A health and safety qualification - a minimum of a NEBOSH General Certificate or similar. Full driving licence.
