Someone with experience influencing and engaging teams to encourage positive behaviour and educate the importance of H&S within the business. An individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills who seeks to gain buy in. Strong attention to detail with a proven track record of managing multiple projects. Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities. The ability to drive your own agenda and be the Champion for HSEQ across the business. A NEBOSH qualification would be advantageous Key Responsibilities: Supporting the development and delivery of health and safety across the business, ensuring this it fit for purpose and striving for best practice. Day to day lead for all H&S matters and responsible for implementing, maintaining and improving HSEQ management systems and driving adherence to internal and external standards. Providing expert health and safety advice and knowledge to the group. Drive continuous improvement, proactively identify where changes and improvements can be made across all operational sites To oversea all insurance claims and manage third party relationships. Develop policies, standards, and training to safeguard health, safety and environmental regulatory understanding. We are looking for a Maintenance Engineer, who will report directly to the Senior Engineer / Engineering Manager on site. They will be accountable for the completion of work, including ensuring that the work is completed in a quality and timely manner. They will provide support in relation to all maintenance tasks and projects being undertaken, including day to day breakdown, PPM, equipment updates, new installations, and building/infrastructure upgrades. The position requires shift work which is a 4 on and 4 of pattern, days and nights. Role responsibilities and summary To ensure all PPM activities are completed on time as required, feeding back information to the Senior Engineer to improve the PPM system and activities. To work closely with the Engineer on the opposite shift to ensure all handover of ongoing activities is carried out every day, and sharing all other information and practices as required. To provide knowledge and input into continuous improvement of plant, machinery, and maintenance activities. Work with the Senior Engineer and Engineering Manager to identify long running problems and suitable solutions. To ensure that as part of the Engineering team, always look to improve equipment performance, reliability, and running costs for replacement parts and consumables. To undertake repairs to equipment in a safe and timely manner ensuring that Production is constantly updated on progress. To undertake remedial engineering works to equipment or site as instructed by the Engineering Manager. To ensure any risks of safety or failure of equipment or site are communicated to the Manager. To work with the Senior Engineer and Engineering Manager to ensure that contractors are working safely on site and adhering to site Health and Safety rules and procedures. To ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with the Site Health and Safety instructions and the SSG Health and Safety manual, as well as in accordance with relevant engineering standards. To report any incidents, accidents and near misses in accordance with Health and Safety Policies. To ensure that equipment provided for the protection of health and safety is maintained and used appropriately, and in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974. To ensure that safe systems of work and best practice procedures are adhered to. To ensure good housekeeping standards are maintained. To ensure the Company's disciplines, rules and standards are maintained. To ensure the company assets are maintained to achieve maximum efficiency. To maintain excellent communication between Production staff and co-workers. What will make you stand out? Excellent communication skills (verbal and written). Electrical Installation 18th Edition. Electrical Installation Maintenance. Mechanical Fabrication/Maintenance. Electronic fault finding to component level. Ability to develop effective working relationships across all levels of management and staff and work as part of a team. Must possess a recognised qualification relevant to the role (e.g. mechanical or electrical C&G). Skilled in both Electrical and Mechanical trades: Apprenticeship with indentures preferred. Preferred knowledge of other engineering disciplines including pneumatics, hydraulics, steam systems. What's on offer?
