ABOUT THE ROLE As a Regional Senior Care Assistant with Barchester care homes, youll deliver warm, empathetic and respectful care and support across a 20-mile radius to help our residents get the most out of life. On a practical level, you can expect to monitor the delivery of care when on duty, contribute to the person-centred care planning process for each resident and record observations on things like temperature and blood pressure amongst a range of other important tasks. The role of Regional Care Assistant is very varied and also involves providing support and companionship. Its vital for us that every resident enjoys meaningful one-to-one time with our carers, every single shift. ABOUT YOU A background in care is important for the role of Regional Senior Care Assistant, and youll need a good understanding of elderly care. A Level 2 NVQ in Health & Social Care is essential with a view to complete an NVQ 3, a good understanding of the wider healthcare industry is required. Ideally, youll also have a C or above in GCSE English and Maths. Dedicated and compassionate, your passion for people means youll go above and beyond to support the wellbeing of residents. Because youll be travelling across the area, youll either need your own car or ready access to one. Well cover your mileage when you travel over five miles from your main home, and if youre on duty at the time of an inspection and we achieve a Good rating, youll qualify for a bonus. Shift times are: 7:30-2:30pm & 2:30pm- 9:30pm on a rota basis including weekends Where you will be working: Location: 1 Prideaux Rd, Eastbourne BN21 2NW You will be working at Ranworth House, a service which provides support for people who may be living with moderate learning disabilities with associated health needs, autism and behaviours. Working alongside a multidisciplinary team, you will offer support to people as part of their care pathway. Whether it is moving from their community placement or a family home because they require more structured care and support. Things that you will have: Preferable experience with Epilepsy, Learning Disability and Autism Must be local or based at a commutable distance and time The ability to show strong empathy, a caring and compassionate nature Willing to support the resident with the personal hygiene People skills, communication skills and a good sense of humour Willingness to deal with the challenging behaviour A positive & professional approach Reliability, flexibility, hard work and honesty Team working ethos aligned to our company values You must live in the UK and have the Right to Work in the UK full time. 20-hour Student and Skilled Worker Visa's cannot be accepted.
