Process Safety Advisor Coryton £39,000 - £48,000 With Excellent Benefits Keeping our Customers Safe, Warm, Working and Informed is what we strive for at Calor The HSSE team at Calor Gas are looking to recruit an engaging and proactive Process Safety Advisor To monitor and audit all operational locations to ensure they are operating in compliance with the Company's Process Safety Policy, procedures and standards. To lead and assist in safety studies at all operational locations to ensure gaps in process safety knowledge or understanding are identified and rectified. Assist in the publication and monitoring of Calor Gas's Process Safety Performance Indicators (PSPI's) to ensure the process safety performance at operational sites is known. Provide process safety support, expertise and assistance to all operational locations to assist them comply with the Company's Process Safety Policy. Key responsibilities will include: Co-operate fully with the company to fulfil its legal obligations and develop a positive safety culture by taking care of your Health & Safety and that of anyone affected by your actions Assist in running Calor's Process Safety audit program at Calor's operational sites to ensure compliance with the Company's Process Safety Policy, Operational Discipline Process Safety (ODPS) policy, policies procedures, Cal Specs and standards including providing assistance to the site operational managers in the completion of audit actions Where appropriate, assist operational site management to implement safety, process and system improvements Advise, audit and train operational staff on safety matters effecting the operational location to ensure they carry out their work in accordance with good practice and in accordance with Calor's specifications, procedures, and work instructions Assess the effectiveness of the Process Safety systems in place and recommend new or modified measures to ensure that the system is updated and relevant Liaise with the Health and Safety Executive, enforcing authorities and emergency services on general matters of health, safety and environment, specifically as they apply to LPG Review site quality systems with operational managers, to ensure that Calor's Process Safety Policy and other safety matters are effectively reflected within the quality system, to ensure site procedures and work instructions contain an appropriate level Review accident and investigation reports and performance with operational managers to ensure learnings are understood and any actions are implemented Investigate process safety accidents and near misses with appropriate operational staff preparing suitable investigation findings that describe the incident, uncover it's causes and detail actions and recommendations to prevent re-occurrence Assist Operational and National Engineering staff in carrying out hazard studies (e.g. HAZOP, SWIFT and PHR) Attend operational location HSSE Committees Carry out additional tasks, which in the judgement of management are within the job holder's capabilities and are requested to meet the needs of the business As such we would like you to have/be: Essential Minimum of a City & Guilds qualification but preferably HNC in Chemical, Mechanical or Production Engineering or equivalent NEBOSH Certificate in Process Safety Management (PSM) Minimum of 3 years experience in a manufacturing or production environment; Experience of process industries Specific knowledge of COMAH and HAZID studies, such as HAZOP, SWIFT, PHR, Experience of auditing safety systems Fully conversant with current health, safety and environmental legislation Good Verbal Communication and Interpersonal skills Good Written Communication skills Able to work independently and exhibit flexibility Self motivated.
