We are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated Social Worker to join our Children in Care Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing direct support to children in care, as well as working closely with foster carers, residential staff, and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for children and young people. Responsibilities: Manage a case load of children in care, conducting assessments, and developing care plans in collaboration with children, families, and carers. Provide direct support and intervention to children and young people in care, addressing their needs and promoting their wellbeing. Work collaboratively with foster carers, residential staff, schools, health professionals, and other stakeholders to coordinate support and services for children in care. Advocate for the rights and best interests of children in care, ensuring their voices are heard and their views are taken into account. Monitor and review the progress of children in care, making adjustments to care plans as necessary to meet their evolving needs. Prepare reports and attend meetings, including court hearings, reviews, and multi-agency meetings, as required. Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records in accordance with statutory requirements and departmental policies. Requirements: Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England. Previous experience working within children's services, with specific experience in working with children in care preferred. Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to looked after children and care planning. Excellent assessment, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and build positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Commitment to promoting the rights and wellbeing of children and young people. Flexibility to travel within the county and work occasional evenings or weekends as required.
