Legal Secretary (Private Client) Leatherhead, Surrey Monday - Friday 37.5 hours per week (Would consider 30 hours per week) £24,000 - £28,000 depending on experience Reed Epsom have partnered with a prestigious law firm based in Leatherhead, Surrey who are recruiting a Legal Secretary/Assistant to join their Private Client team. The role will be to assist two solicitors and a trainee/newly qualified solicitor. Our client specialises in the areas of property and private client advice. This role requires an individual with a positives and friendly attitude, attention to detail and good IT skills. Able to inspire confidence and to project and positive image for the firm. Desirable skills & Experience: Fast , accurate typing ideally using digital audio systems. Flawless attention to detail 3 years experience in wills, trusts, lasting powers of attorney, probate and estate administration, tax planning (inheritance tax and capital gains tax) and working with elderly or vulnerable clients. CILEX Legal secretary diploma. Day to day requirements of the role: Supervised drafting (wills, lasting powers of attorney, estate accounts, inheritance tax returns, court applications, asset closure and transfer forms) Secretarial support including producing correspondence and attendance notes, preparing invoices, electronic filing, maintaining document registers, processing post, scanning and photocopying, dictation. Monitor progress of matters and follow u0p by phone and email where necessary. Answer the phone, log calls, transfer calls, take messages and taking payments File openings and closing including AML and source of funds procedures Make appointments, maintain diary, meet/greet clients.
My client is seeking a Private Client Solicitor to join their Virginia Water, Surrey offices. Principal duties: To operate within a departmental structure delivering a consistent, excellent standard of legal services to our clients. Undertake fee-earning work, working both independently and as a member of the team and provide a profitable contribution to the work of the department. Manage private client matters. Maintain high standards in the processing of client work, both in respect of professional standards and client care Attend upon clients to take instructions and provide advice on the most appropriate course of action to meet their needs Carry out all actions in relation to executing client instructions in an efficient and timely manner. Ensure the confidentiality and security of all company and client documentation, information and effects. Maintain good professional working relationships with external institutions and organisations. Comply with the Firm's policies in the carrying out of duties and assist Partners and other fee earners in achieving a smooth output of work. Liaise with the HOD and other staff to ensure adequate cover within the department at all times, and to attend to clients of other fee earners in their absence, where this is appropriate. Achieve agreed financial targets, both in respect of fee income and the recording of chargeable hours. Financial control of your own matters with particular regard to cash flow through collection of monies on account and billing procedures.
