THE OPPORTUNITY: Macildowie are currently recruiting for a Health & Safety Compliance Lead working for an exciting business based in Warwickshire. The role will be to provide professional health and safety advice, guidance, training, and support across the business, dealing with design and technical teams, operations, manufacturing and on-site delivery. Facilitate compliance within the delivery of each project maintaining relevant legal, industry and organisational standards. You will take ownership of all Health and Safety compliance, including inspections of our construction sites, formally reporting site visits, and if required, conducting formal accident investigations. Be responsible in ensuring our Principal Contractor, Principal Designer and CDM duties are fulfilled. This is a full time permanent position with great benefits! THE ROLE & YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES: Overall responsibility for compliance of the Company's H&S policies and systems. Develop, Implement & Review the Company H&S policies, create H&S Action plans, Risk Assessments, Procedures and Safe Systems of work, ensuring they comply with the relevant and up to date legislations. Monitor, evaluate and review existing, new, and upcoming Health and Safety legislation and make recommendations on requirements to meet legal compliance. Work proactively with senior management and other key employees in reviewing and maintaining a programme of HSEQ strategy and continuous improvement in the management of Health and Safety. Identify hazards and risks across the business and make recommendations for areas of improvement to senior management, maintaining a record of risks identified and producing supporting documentation as required. Review and approve all risk assessments and workplace method statements on a regular basis ensuring they are up to date Review , maintain and developed IBMS system in line with Compliance , external verifications on our auditable QA system to ensure the Company's statutory compliance in all areas. Develop, implement & maintain an accident record database, and prepare reports for senior management /clients when required. Also liaise with the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) as required in the event of an incident. Lead and support project teams in the investigation of accidents and incidents and in the implementation of resulting recommendations and learnings . Provide updates to senior management on KPI's (accident stats, RIDDOR stats, Inspection performance etc.) as requested or required. Attend relevant client or project meetings at pre or post contract award and raise any H&S related matters or opportunities for improvement to ensure projects are delivered in line with relevant H&S legislation and Company H&S policy. Provide support in the management system for the onboarding of all sub-contractor trades ensuring relevant insurance and documentation is held on file and approved. Assist as required with pre-qualification, bid and tender opportunities as necessary. Ensure all statutory inspections, safety tests and records are maintained & reviewed throughout the business. Take responsibility for first aid and Fire procedures including employee fire marshal and first aid training, both on site and at Company premises. Develop and implement strategies to reduce incidents and non-conformance associated with design, quality, and construction.
