Job Title: Hygiene Manager Location: Lancaster, North West Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience Job Type: Full Time, Permanent Working Hours: Nightshift The company is a dynamic and rapidly growing business who are looking to recruit a Nightshift Hygiene Manager with a strong background in food manufacturing, specifically meat processing. About the role: Reporting to the Operations Manager you will oversee the entire nightshift cleaning operation, conduct regular inspections to identify areas for improvement and address any issues promptly. You will train and educate staff on proper hygiene practices, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). As well as leading your team to success you will also need to think about the bigger picture of your role ensuring that all areas of the factory site are maintained to exceptional standards of hygiene process improvements, working to KPI's, GMP standards, food safety and health and safety standards. The overall focus of the role will be to manage and develop the hygiene standards, your team and drive a continuous improvement approach to cleaning methods. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the technical team to ensure all set cleaning standards are maintained and also the engineering team to address matters which have the potential to impact productivity. Key Responsibilities: Creating, implementing and maintaining a cleaning strategy, through cleaning schedules, microbiological swabbing and improvement plans Creating, maintaining and training of CIC's Liaising with Engineering, Operations and Planning Team to agree the weekly hygiene schedule Overseeing a team of Hygiene Operatives Ensuring training is completed and the skill level maintained within the team Management of team's performance through hygiene KPI's, with a clear and effective improvement plan Completing hygiene audits to drive improvement Involvement in key customer audits Responsible for managing chemical stocks Making sure the hygiene team have the relevant tools for the job Manage hygiene sign offs Communicating hygiene KPI's Undertake investigations and root cause analysis in response to complaints or operational issues and initiate corrective actions Ensure a safe working environment by ensuring that all standards of the Health and Safety are adhered to within the department The candidate must have skills and experiences in the following areas: Essential: Strong leadership qualities, able to inspire confidence and lead a multi-cultural team 3 - 5 years' experience managing people ideally within the food manufacturing sector although this is not essential A can-do attitude, able to communicate effectively at all levels A comprehensive understanding of modern GMP Experience operating to BRC standards The ability to multi task and balance multiple priorities Proficient in MS Office Knowledge of CIP systems Excellent Problem-solving and decision-making Desirable: IOSH Certificate Level 3 Food safety certificate HACCP Training COSHH Training Please click the APPLY button to submit your CV and Cover Letter for this role. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Hygiene Manager at our Erith site, in which you would lead and develop an efficient hygiene operation in line with the site plan and KPIs. A big part of the role would be to create and deliver the hygiene strategy and plan to ensure continuous improvement activity is in place to drive year on year improvements. What will you be doing? Ensuring compliance with company and legal standards (food and personal safety, quality, hygiene, and environment) Customer focused delivery of hygiene to Manufacturing and Technical standards, both internal and external (BRC / Customer Standards / Codes of Practice) Managing, developing, and leading your team of operatives and demonstrating visible leadership for the team Reviewing competency and ensuring appropriate training and development plans are in place to meet both individual and business needs Creating an empowering culture and encouraging teamwork and a supporting environment to improve business performance Have a good working knowledge of company HR Policies and processes (performance, conduct, disciplinary, grievance, attendance etc) Making an active and positive contribution to the site management team, and ensuring hygiene plans and activity dovetail into site supply strategy and plans Ensuring continuous improvement and engagement are part of the site plans We're looking for someone who has true leadership qualities and can take ownership of this function. Good understanding of working with cleaning chemicals A sound knowledge or qualification in HACCP, COSHH, cleaning chemicals, IT and current food safety regulations. People management skills - experience of managing teams in an FMCG manufacturing environment Experience of Pest control Experience in delivering Food Hygiene training Excellent verbal, IT and numerate skills Experience of working effectively in a Trade Union environment Good all-round understanding of compliance What would be ideal?
