Operating within the Finance team, the role will provide the Senior Leadership Team with insightful, value-add financial support and analysis which facilitates effective decision making. Important details: 12 month FTC for Mat Cover. Salary: Up to £90,000 Office-based role. Looking to start ASAP. What you will do: The Group Financial Controller will take ownership in leading a first-class finance function recognised by colleagues and externally providing financial and commercial leadership to the team. You will develop efficient financial processes and ensure compliance with appropriate accounting standards and regulations through developed policies and procedures. What you are responsible for: Manage the production and distribution of financial reports including Management Accounts, Bank Repots and Statutory Reporting. Provide accurate weekly and monthly cash forecast requirements for financing decisions based on capital availability. Ensure that the group tax compliance returns are accurate and completed on time in accordance with the tax strategy. Ensure that the group audit is managed for each legal entity and the group to deliver clean audit reports for each company. Provide relevant, timely and consistent monthly and ad hoc management reports as required for the Board, SLT and other business contacts to agreed deadlines. Complete the month end close process in c.5 days and benchmark performance external Own the data, which populates the monthly business reviews focusing on business performance for the month, YTD and forecasts. Develop the reporting and systems to enable the cost base for the group to be better understood and used for pricing and costing decisions so that the true cost of care is understood. To develop analyses to split out true central services' gross costs from direct regional costs. Take control of the capital expenditure process with the business to the extent that it impacts on the cash forecast and fixed asset register. Provide commercial support to Leadership Team in support of complex agreements, market evaluation, determination, and execution of strategy. Provide analysis of investments including liaising with the external tax resource to ensure appropriate corporate structuring is put in place. Own and execute an integration plan for acquisitions (and degrouping plan for divestments) to cover all aspects during a period before, during and after any transaction or investment, monitoring costs and timeframes during the project. Ensure that system and process developments are consistent to the business needs over the plan period and liaise with shared service contacts to ensure that these are cost effective and timely. Ensure that cost efficiency is paramount within the group by identifying areas of unnecessary bureaucracy or processes that should be amended. Direct line management of team members (Management Accountant, Payroll, A/R, A/P and Cash/Treasury teams). You Will: Be technically strong accountant with a good working knowledge of group accounting (including consolidations) and tax (VAT and corporation tax). Have a high degree of comfort with Systems control and reference data management. Someone who has strong attention to detail. Be able to demonstrate experience of managing change and system implementations. Be an experienced manager with a proven track record and credibility leading a team. Have developed organisational and time management skills that enable you to prioritise conflicting demands. Have a professional and cooperative attitude even when under pressure. You have experience of: Managing a group audit and tax compliance for each legal entity and the group to deliver a clean audit report Strong reporting skills - proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products especially excel (intermediate). A recognised accounting qualification (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) either gained while working in audit practice or in industry. Social Care sector preferred.
