SF Group are working with a private equity backed business in the Stoke on Trent area on the recruitment of an Interim Financial Controller. This role will report into the Finance Director and offers hybrid working. Key Duties Include: - Managing all day-to-day accounting operations - Coordinating the management of cash flow, debt and debt collection - Preparing and publishing all monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements/reports - Monitoring and acting on key KPIs across the business, both financial and non financial - Coordinating the preparation of budget and forecasting - Making sure reporting meets compliant standards - Supervising and managing financial department team You will be a Qualified accountant with circa 5 years PQE (ideally within industry). As the Financial Controller, you will play a pivotal role in managing and overseeing the financial operations of the business. You will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, managing accounting operations, and providing strategic insights to drive business performance. Key Responsibilities include: Managing the day-to-day accounting operations including accruals, prepayments, and reconciliations. Overseeing year-end reporting and coordinating with auditors for annual audits. Managing taxation responsibilities, including compliance with international tax regulations. Handle group accounts and provide consolidated financial statements. Conducting in-depth financial analysis and reporting to provide insights for decision-making. Maintaining and utilising Xero accounting software for financial transactions and reporting. Supporting the preparation of budgets and forecasts. Working closely with other departments to optimise financial performance and provide financial advice. Ensuing compliance with all financial regulations and internal policies. Candidate Qualifications/Requirements: Partial or fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent). Proven experience with accruals, prepayments, taxation, and auditors. Strong knowledge of year-end reporting and international tax. Proficiency in using Xero accounting software. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. A proactive approach to financial management.
