Job Title: TA/ Communication Support using Sign Language Location: Bournemouth Salary: £13- £14 per hour Start date: June 2024 Hours: Full-time Monday-Friday 8:30-15:30 (term-time only) Contract: Fixed-term until the end of the next academic year Do you hold a British Sign Language (BSL) qualification and are now seeking a role where you can implement your skills and experience? The role consists of supporting a pupil 1:1 using clear spoken English and BSL, so that they can access the content of the lesson and engage in the learning alongside their peers. The ideal candidate would hold a Level 3 in British Sign Language, however if you have a wealth of experience communicating using sign language without this qualification you could still be considered for the role. We are looking to recruit a Legal Cashier/Accounts Assistant for a forward-thinking Legal 500 firm based in Bournemouth. Hybrid working is on offer after an initial period of training in the office. Youwill be responsible for assisting in the effective operation of a small but busy accounts department, providing a first class service to the firm. This is a varied role with a focus on delivering timely and accurate transactional work and maintaining a positive relationship between the firm and its clients. It's a high volume, deadline driven area subject to regulatory rules, so you'll need to be able to work well as part of a team. Duties include: Maintaining the accounting records of all departments of the firm in compliance with the Solicitors Account Rules Identification, allocation and processing of a high volume of receipts and payments which come into the firm's bank accounts On-line banking receipt and payment processing activities Daily reconciliations of those bank accounts by effective use of a practice management accounting software Accurately recording all transactions on the accounting systems The Person: Experience as a Legal Cashier would be an advantage. A high degree of IT literacy, including a good familiarity with MS Office, particularly Word and Excel Excellent working knowledge of using electronic accounting systems / software, with experience of using Tikit (Partner for Windows) a distinct advantage. This is an exciting entry-level role within the compliance function at a Legal 500 law firm's office in Bournemouth. This is an opportunity to learn from senior compliance officers on the team, and facilitate the acceptance of new clients to the firm. This will be a vital part of supporting the firm's AML efforts by assisting in the identification, prevention and mitigation of risks associated with money laundering. Key tasks: Identifying who needs to provide identity and verification documents. Liaising with clients to promptly obtain identity and verification documents. Performing and recording the results of searches and sanction checks. Proactively resolving ad-hoc queries related to all aspects of AML analysis. Working on the firm's onboarding software to open new clients and matters for new and existing clients. Performing periodic reviews of accounts as required by the onboarding policies. Actively participate in developing, testing and implementing new or enhanced CDD processes and other process improvement initiatives as required. Supporting the wider business with any onboarding queries and the onboarding process. Preferred Experience: Previous exposure to AML risks is beneficial, but not essential. A degree in Law is beneficial, but not essential. Previous professional experience at a Law firm is advantageous, but not essential.
