On behalf of Warwickshire County Council, Pertemps Recruitment have an exciting opportunity for a Claims Officer to join their Warwick based team. This is a high-profile post and would be an ideal opportunity for someone who has worked within Insurance Claims role, that is looking to gain experience of working for a Local Authority. You will achieve this by: Ensuring all claims are notified to the claims handling system and that records are accurate and up to date. Investigating all claims by way of assessing the information required and obtaining this from the relevant Council teams or other party. In certain cases on-site meetings may be needed to assist the investigation process. Assessing evidence against allegations and legislation to determine whether legal liability will attach to the Council. Providing your liability decision to claimants, their legal advisors or external claims handlers. You may also need to advise Council Teams of the decision and explain your reasoning. Obtaining evidence to assist in evaluating quantum, this may include motor engineers reports, medical reports and receipts etc. Obtaining evidence in relation to claimants solicitors costs, evaluate, negotiate and agree settlement. Updating the claims handling system diary line with laid down procedures. What are we looking for in the ideal candidate? At least 3 years experience of handling a wide range of liability claims with an insurance company CII Certificate of Insurance or equivalent qualification. An understanding of the Civil Procedure Rules gained through qualifications or experience. A leading global Insurance firm based in the city of London are currently seeking a self-motivated, confident and highly capable Complaints Handler to start asap until approximately October 2024 within a temporary ongoing capacity. The ability to educate and liaise effectively with different stakeholders and third parties will be essential to the successful completion of this role. Flexibility for this role will be vital too as there are often tight deadlines and this role will compliment an individual who likes working to a fast pace and accurate manner.
