Role: Building Assurance Specialist - Fire and Asbestos Location: Durham (covering the North) Package: £38,000-£48,600 £3000 car allowance, 27 days holiday Opportunity: Working with one of the UK's most valued service providers, our client holds one of the largest portfolios in the country, comprising more than 3000 properties, ranging from listed buildings through to state-of-the-art integrated health campuses. Their goal is to ensure excellent patient care can be provided through making the right property choices; as their Building Assurance Specialist, you'll play a really key role here in contributing to the Fire and Asbestos safety and compliance of various sites across the North of the UK. What will your role look like?Supporting the Senior Facilities Services department, you'll take the lead for all Fire and Asbestos safety matters. Your top priority will be to identify and improve the quality and safety of the buildings our client is responsible for, working with colleagues across the region to ensure compliancy with all building and safety legislation. You'll be the go-to person for all things fire-safety related, so you can expect some of your day to day responsibilities to cover off the likes of fire preventative arrangements, risk assessments, fire safety strategies and ensuring the completion of periodic site visits. You'll also embrace and contribute to the Asbestos reinspection check programme as part of this role, where you'll conduct on-site checks and provide key support across the region with understanding and learning. What are we looking for? We're looking for somebody who holds;- NEBOSH Certificate in Fire Safety Level 3 or equivalent - NEBOSH National General Certificate Level 3 or equivalent - Asbestos reinspection course (recognised 3rd party provider) - Masters level or equivalent professional qualification/experience in a building, fire or safety related subject You'll hold experience in a Fire Safety role with specialist knowledge of legislation including Building Safety, Fire Safety and Asbestos. You'll have knowledge of CAR 2012 and HSG 264. Flexibility is key for this role, as travel is required across the region.
