Overview We are recruiting a Fixed Asset Accountant for a well-funded venture capital backed technology client based in Reading. Our client is expanding rapidly and currently going through a large-scale finance transformation project centred on the integration and harmonization of separate operating companies to drive growth and efficiencies. Out of this finance transformation has come a brand-new requirement for a Fixed Asset Accountant. You will report to the Financial Controller and interface with the OpCo's and investors. Your key responsibilities will include: Set up and management of best-in-class mechanisms for accurate and efficient fixed asset and inventory control. Production of financial records to accurately reflect the fixed asset position. Full asset life cycle control from initial recognition through to operation and depreciation. Production of financial records to accurately reflect the inventory position. Recording inflows, outflows and transfer of inventory. Ensuring the consistency of accounting policies with Group; thereby reflecting best practice and enabling the in-depth analysis of Fixed Assets, Inventory and WIP for Investors Manage key stakeholder relationships across the business and externally with investors. Your profile: A qualified Accountant with a minimum of two years fixed asset / inventory experience I anticipate that at least some of your experience will have been gained in the infrastructure, engineering, manufacturing or industrial sector i.e., Utilities / Telecommunications Demonstrable experience of the improvement of systems and process. NetSuite experience would be advantageous. Able to display a proactive approach alongside strong communication skills and organisational ability. Ensuring that the UK assets are correctly recorded and appropriately safeguarded Filing of month-end records and the periodic archiving for the Finance records Fixed Asset accounting Liaise with internal colleagues to resolve all relevant issues Maintain the prepayment accounts including the checking, releasing, posting and reconciling of the relevant accounts. Monthly journals posting Posting of Prepayments and month end Journals Posting of Depreciation charge monthly. Capitalisation of Fixed Assets and monitoring of CIP accounts Responsible for the creation of Internal Orders Support the maintenance of the fixed asset register and update with additions as required. Support the periodic physical inventory counts of fixed assets. Qualifications and Experience Required. Qualified accountant Big4 working experience or experience of working in an accounting environment previously a similar role. Competent IT skills are required, specifically Excel. What you bring: The ideal candidate for this role is CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualified with significant experience in Management Accounting. You bring strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel along with proven leadership skills from previous roles where you've managed teams effectively.
