Reed Talent Solutions are currently working with a West Yorkshire based Local Authority to recruit a Head of Health and Safety on an initial 3-month contract.
The post-holder will report directly to the Service Director for Property, Facilities and Health and Safety and work closely with the corporate health and safety team, property compliance team and external contractors.
As the Interim Fire Risk Assessor, you will be responsible for conducting Fire Risk Assessments for a diverse portfolio of properties owned by the Council.
You will work collaboratively with other professionals, including the Asbestos Manager, Building Services Engineer, and Facilities Manager, to ensure compliance with statutory requirements and maintain a safe environment for occupants.
Your role will involve assessing approximately 10,500 tenanted homes, 240 corporate and commercial operational properties, including high-rise tower blocks, medium-rise blocks of flats, and low-rise blocks of flats.
The candiate must be experienced in undertaking works to upgrade doors and existing frames in relation to Fire Safety improvement work and in measuring and fitting new door, frames and doorsets in accordance with current guidance relating to fire safety Must be able to work independently and unsupervised

Our team of qualified inspectors work together with property directors and facilities managers, within a large range of residential developments and commercial buildings across the UK, to ensure fire doors are in safe working order and advise clients accordingly.
The ideal candidate will be a diligent and detail-oriented Health and Safety Administrator, and will be responsible for ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and protocols within the operational laboratories and test facilities, supporting a large and growing team of engineers and technicians.
