We are delighted to be partnering with this Cumbrian based Group Company who are now appointing into this new and exciting senior payroll post. This is a full time, permanent role, based at Head office in Carlisle. The organisation has recently been through a positive period of change and investment, resulting in the requirement to bolster the Payroll function, creating a new opportunity for a Payroll Manager to join their high-performing finance team. This role comes at an exciting time for the company as they evolve and grow, employing 350 staff across the North of England. A fantastic opportunity for a Payroll professional to truly shape the role, implementing new payroll systems and procedures. The Payroll Managers goal is to ensure that the monthly payroll for the group of companies is processed efficiently and accurately. Key responsibilities: Processing monthly payroll for the groups companies on a monthly basis for their circa 350 employees and dealing with any associated queries Ensuring month end, payroll journals and year end processes are processed accurate Ensure all 3rd party remittances, payments and procedures are completed Processing starters, leavers and amendments in the payroll system Ensuring the group is kept up to date with any legislation changes and are implemented effectively Implementation of internal systems, and continuous improvements are made Project work and data analysis Review current procedures and make recommendations to increase effectiveness To be a project lead on various tasks (legacy and new) Engage and influence senior stakeholders on various projects/tasks. To be able to build strong rapport with internal and external stakeholders. Possibility to get involved in other analytical project work outside of the payroll cycle. Working closely with internal HR and Finance teams Skills & Attributes: The ideal candidate will be detail oriented and highly professional with the ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines. You will be adaptable to a fast-paced environment You will have excellent attention to detail, along with strong analytical skills using Excel and Microsoft skills. CIPP qualification (desirable). Experience of managing and processing end to end payroll Good commercial acumen and confident in influencing senior stakeholders Salary & Benefits package: Competitive annual salary dependent on experience (£38,000 - £42,000 region) Full time, permanent on-site role 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays Pension contributions 5% matched Free parking Employee Assistance Program Death in service benefit of 2 x salary A suite of Health & well being support services
