Strong communication skills are imperative as you will be required to build and maintain relationships with various internal and external stakeholders. Experience within an education setting isn't essential, however you must be able to demonstrate the ability to quickly adapt to new systems and processes working independently and utilising the support of the CFO. Your new company A respected business based in Colne, who have developed an excellent reputation for their specialist products, are looking to recruit an experienced Finance Officer to join their team on a full time and permanent basis. Your new role In your new role as Finance Officer, you will be reporting to the MD and have a varied, well-rounded job involving all elements of transactional accounting. You will be responsible for daily and monthly bank reconciliations for UK and foreign currency accounts, month-end reconciliation and processing BACS and international payments. Your role will include purchase ledger, processing supplier invoices and reconciling and posting monthly credit card statements. You will process all employee expenses, reconcile supplier statements and deal with any issues. Credit control will also form part of your role, where you will liaise with customers via all forms of communication channels, posting invoices and credit notes. You will assist with the month end including accruals, prepayments, journal postings and VAT returns. This is a full time role working Monday to Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm. What you'll need to succeed As a successful candidate, you will have experience of working in a similar role previously, with a good understanding of accounting principles. You will have working knowledge of purchase ledger, sales ledger and credit control, with a desire to expand your skill set and progress with this growing business. A good understanding of Excel is essential, with vlookups and pivot tables as a minimum. Experience of Sage is highly desirable.
