Finance Officer (Temporary) Job Type: Temporary Possibly leading to permanent Location: Raynes Park SW20 35 hours per week (Term time plus 2 weeks) We are seeking a dedicated Finance Officer to support the Finance Manager of this local School. The successful candidate will be responsible for the operation of the School's Petty Cash Account, cash collections, and supporting the Estates Manager in maintaining a fixed asset register and inventory control. This role also involves assisting with Year End preparations and the School Work Force Census. Day to Day of the Role: Operate the School's Petty Cash Account and manage cash collections. Support the Estates Manager in maintaining a fixed asset register and inventory control. Conduct research and obtain information to inform financial decisions. Assist with Year End preparations and the School Work Force Census. Support the Finance and HR Manager in various aspects of their work as directed. Required Skills & Qualifications: Preferably experience working within a schools finance team AAT or Financial Management qualification is desirable, or equivalent experience with demonstrable competency. Fully competent in using MS Office, including Word and Excel. Experience in computerised finance, pay, personnel, and administrative systems. Ability to work constructively as part of a team. Full working knowledge of relevant policies/codes of practice and awareness of relevant legislation. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to relate to a wide range of individuals. Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage own workload. Knowledge of bookkeeping and understanding of ledger control accounts. Understanding of safeguarding and child protection issues.
