Your new role The Finance Officer role will involve, ensuring the smooth operation of the daily accounts functions, such as sales ledger, bank and cash management, and Early Years funding activities. The role will also require you to support with general administration tasks to support the finance team. The main duties of the role will include; Raise sales invoices, check, confirm and amend direct debits Prepare reports to import sales invoices and cash receipt Deal with customer queries in respect of sales ledger accounts Monitor debtors and undertake credit control on all debt Post cash onto the sales ledger Assist the accounts department with reporting Maintain grant funding timetable Liaise with local authorities in respect to financial audits What you'll need to succeed You will need to demonstrate previous experience in a similar level transactional finance role. Finance Assistant - Saltash / Hybrid - £22-25,000 Trial Balance Consulting are delighted to have been exclusively assigned by a highly successful and long-standing client, a well-established and expanding retail/distribution business. They seek to recruit a Finance Assistant to join them on a full-time, permanent basis. The role is offered on a hybrid arrangement, with two days working from home and the remaining days working out of a Saltash based HQ. Reporting in to an experienced and friendly Financial Controller, this role is part of a close-knit team who promote and encourage a positive working environment. Main duties of the role to include: Overseeing the purchase ledger - keeping all supplier accounts up-to-date with efficiency and good communication. Assisting with the sales ledger as required, dealing with customer queries and managing aged debtor. Carrying out month end procedures as part of the sales and purchase ledger control. Reconciling company credit cards and processing staff expenses. Reconciliation of stock supplier accounts The successful candidate will have at least 18 months experience in a similar role and ideally, though not essentially, be part or fully AAT qualified. This is a role which could suit someone who is still in the early stages of their accounting career, or alternatively someone who enjoys ledger work and wants to fit in to a fun and dynamic team. Excellent communication skills, good initiative and an ability to work well within a team are all essential skills. As is strong IT aptitude, including MS Office and particularly Excel.
