The Family Support Service delivers interventions to children and families of all ages across the borough.
The post holder will provide practical and evidenced based support to children and their families to promote improved parenting capacity and understanding of the developing needs of children as part of the overall work of the Family Unit.
Family Practitioners, under the supervision of the Consultant Social Worker will contribute to the overall effectiveness of the service through applying a persistent approach in assessment and intervention activities with families using assessment, observation, task centred, behavioural and systemic approaches with children, young people and their families.
By working together, we are developing flexible services which are responsive to children's and families' needs, providing the right level of help at the right time.

The starting salary for these positions is £31,262 per annum based on a 36-hour working week.
