Working alongside the multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for organising and coordinating First Tier Tribunals Section Renewal and Hospital Manager Appeal meetings for service users, this will see you prepare and arrange paperwork to support the meetings. As a Mental Health Act Administrator/ Medical Secretary you will process hearings for Mental Health Tribunals and Hospital Managers Reviews, and will be responsible for notifying all parties, obtaining reports, negotiate hearing dates and venue, and providing and processing documentation in line with MHA Code of Practice and procedures. You will also work alongside the Registered Clinicians assisting with confidential paperwork, service users records and GP letters. As a Medical Health Act Administrator/Medical Secretary you will be: Supporting the Registered Clinician with letters and general documentation Supporting all meetings as minute taker as requested chaired by the Medical Director, SMT or ad hoc. Receiving and record typing, checking, and amending for spelling and grammatical errors, completing within given deadlines. Participating in the administration, development and evaluation of regulatory matters. Co-ordinating the hospital diary and the whereabouts of the clinicians Booking in meetings Arranging Conference Calls Following up MHA action points included in the Care Quality Commission reports submitted following visits to clinical areas. Liaising with the consultants and nursing team to update service users information regarding renewal of sections and consent to treatments. Providing information to service users about their access to Independent Mental Heal Advocacy Services (IMHA) To be successful in this role, you'll need: Confidence to liaise and give advice to a wide range of people from different profession Experience within a similar role Knowledge of the relevant legislation and current case law relating to the Act. Where you will be working: Location: Lockwood Rd, Cheadle, Stoke-on-Trent ST10 4QU Moorlands Neurological Centre is being developed as a neurobehavioural hospital service for men and women over the age of 18 years, who have an acquired brain injury. The service will support and care for people who, because of their injury, have challenging and complex needs that are preventing them from making further progress with their lives and require a neurobehavioural rehabilitation programme.
