We are seeking a dedicated and professional civil enforcement officer to join our team on a contract basis in South Shields. This role is essential in ensuring that parking restrictions are adhered to, maintaining smooth traffic flow, and enhancing road safety in the area. Key Responsibilities: Patrolling designated areas in South Shields to monitor parking activities. Issuing Penalty Charge Notices to vehicles found in contravention of parking regulations. Check for parking articles such as permits, blue badges etc. Providing a visible presence to deter illegal parking. Assisting the public with parking-related enquiries in a polite and informative manner. Accurately recording and documenting enforcement activities. Reporting any issues or hazards to the appropriate authorities. Ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and guidelines. Requirements: Previous experience in a similar role is highly desirable. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Valid DBS. Ability to work independently and make informed decisions. Strong observational skills and attention to detail. A calm and professional manner, especially in potentially confrontational situations. Good level of physical fitness to walk and patrol for extended periods. Knowledge of local parking regulations and enforcement procedures is an advantage. Valid UK driving licence.
