About the role The Meter Asset Management Administrator will play an important role in the Meter Asset Management Teams day to day processes and any project driven work. They will carry out operational processes including RGMA flow management, Siteworks/Disconnections and maintenance of metering assets, whilst also working hard towards industry targets surrounding the SMART & AMR Installation Programme. Key Responsibilities Liaising with our designated 3rd Parties on deployment for SMART/AMR Rollouts Supporting our frontline customer service to resolve queries in relation to Smart and Advanced meters Playing a main role in the roll-out of Smart and Advanced meters, ensuring we comply with Supply Licence Conditions and the commercial needs of the business Administrative support for Gas siteworks; new connections, relocations, upgrades/downgrade, disconnections, OFMAT Tests etc Administrative duties surrounding Elec siteworks for new connections and changes to existing meters including energisation and de-energisation for electricity meters and disconnections Processing of RGMA Flows within Industry SLA, ensuring accuracy and efficiency is maintained to support Industry Performance Identifying inherited Smart/AMR meters and ensuring gain process is initiated to allow the meter to operate in SMART/AMR mode Monitoring, raising and tracking the resolution of meter and SMART/AMR faults across both Gas and Elec portfolios Key Requirements Experience within a similar role within the Energy sector, desirable General understanding of the Smart Metering Programme and the functionality of Smart and AMR Meters Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships with stakeholders Microsoft Office Proficient (Previous Excel based experience) Excellent time management and ability to prioritise workloads, adhering to deadlines Practical approach to problem solving with a 'right first time' motive Self-motivated and able to motivate others What benefits we offer? Working Pattern: Permanent Full Time Flexible First options available Reporting to the Asset Policy Standards and Specifications Manager, this is a key role where you will act as the Technical Authority and subject-matter expert in SSEN for Transformers, Reactors, CT's and VT's from LV to 132kV. This role develops and maintains SSE's Specifications relating to these assets as well as being the point of reference for the policy and procedures relating to the installation, operation, inspection and maintenance of SSE's distribution equipment ensuring compliance, safety, quality and efficiency. Your duties and responsibilities will include: First and foremost, to actively promote safe working practice in the team and wider SSEN, ensuring compliance of our equipment with international standards and relevant safety and environmental legislation. Acting as a competent Technical Authority in the Distribution Networks business you will be responsible for SSE's Specifications relating to Transformers, Reactors, CT's and VT's as well as being the point of reference for the policy and procedures relating to the installation, operation, inspection and maintenance of SSE's distribution equipment. You will own and continuously develop SSEN Specifications and Standards and act as the technical Authority in the Procurement Assessment process providing optimal solutions to the business, and ensure the approved documentation is delivered 'on time' and to the necessary quality to comply with the procurement processes. Lead smooth roll-out of equipment changes and manage new equipment introduction to minimise the impact to business. Liaise with training schools and project teams to trial new equipment and provide constant support when needed. You'll liaise with manufacturers to explore new developments, and be required to witness FAT's and conduct Factory assessment visit on behalf of SSE. You will also act as point of reference between manufacturers and SSE upon equipment defects or non conformance and develop solutions for the company. What do I need? To succeed in this role you will be a qualified Electrical Engineer with a strong working knowledge of the specifications and operation of transformers, reactors, VT's and CT's used on the Distribution and Transmission Networks including good knowledge of statutory, regulatory & license requirements, safety and environmental legislation. In addition, we would love you to have: Good knowledge of Asset Management and how asset intensive organisations function; either from other roles within SSE, other energy network roles or from experience gained working for other utilities, engineering consultancies, DNO equipment suppliers or delivery contractors. Change management experience relating to implementing new policies / standards and new equipment. Knowledge of asset management practices, asset systems, operation and safety of high voltage electricity networks. As this is a field based role and a full UK driving licence is an essential requirement.
